Banks: your open finance chain is running AI experiments – what’s your risk?

Senior executives from ING, UBS, Barclays, and Standard Bank were candid at the Banking Transformation Summit in Summer 2026: AI governance inside their institutions is lagging deployment. That is the smaller problem. The larger one is what is happening in their open finance chains - where the same pressures apply, the same governance gaps exist, and the liability still lands on the institution holding the customer relationship.
